Jim Afroukhteh

Jim Afroukhteh was born in July 1954 in Iran.  It was his stay in Madrid, Spain where he started his career as an artist.  The architecture and the artists of the area began to influence the way he painted and interpreted art.   His studies of  ‘El Greco’ would become inspiration for how Jim would handle his drawing and paint.  He soon found his own signature style with a soft blending of neutral colors that can be found in his landscapes and cityscapes.   In 1982 he immigrated to the United States where he now resides in the southeastern United States and enjoys painting in his studio and expanding his antiques collection.  Jim also enjoys creating his own personal line of wood frames.

“All my paintings are done with oil, I always admired the Great Masters of Impressionism and like them I am searching and studying the light. I like to paint landscapes the most but I paint other subjects such as animals, abstracts and more…”

Besides painting and building custom frames, more recently Jim has added sculpture painting to his repertoire.  He is the man who created the police officer Buck statue for the Bucks in Buckhead project.  His works can be found in many commercialand Residential collections.
